What happened after Colonel Effingham's Raid?

HollyQueer used to be 'Hollywood'. Back in those days (1946) the ugly specter of the Politics Game was very obvious to everyone. In 1943, during the war, a man named Barry Fleming wrote a book called Colonel Effingham's Raid.
