Thereby, removing the Real Overview (Objectivity) from their thinking. If they ever had it to begin with that is. The less that know, the better.

D. From the 'Classic Overview' -- about a hundred miles high -- things look very different, and very clear -- and it is very clear that things are INSANE down there!!!!

E. It would be nice to just change things from one hundred miles high; and then it would all be over. However, the changes have to be made at ground level.

F. From ground level you cannot see the changes that have to be made. Also, you cannot see how much force is required and where and how -- to achieve an Optimal Revolution.

G. Even if you have the overview, how can you make the sensible changes occur at ground levels until everything is as it should be, from one hundred miles high?

H. How do you explain that necessity to anyone who thinks they will lose something (anything) if everything is done objectively? This is a society of Takers and Grabbers and Looters. Here, no one will ever accept the idea of voluntarily giving up something (anything) for an Actual Solution, for a Sane Revolution. So, the only way to do anything -- is to give everyone something. That is Insane.

I. What will you give up so that your neighbor or your town will be secure and safe and healthy? You see -- often the real fear of a Revolution goes by a different name. Greed. 'Oh Ickers' are greedy. Their own selfish interests drive them to condemn all Revolutions, and to wildly exaggerate the dangers. We do not need the likes of them to tell us what the dangers are. Their worst danger is suffocation from having their heads up their asses.

J. Sometimes, it happens. Sometimes, a Revolution occurs that gets pretty close to what it should have been from one hundred miles high. As Long John Silver would say -- "Them's ar the lucky ones!" In such cases, the effects of Revolution are permanent and beneficial beyond expectations -- because expectations are usually dim -- because the people with the expectations have no overview.

K. The thing to do -- and this is really cool if it works -- is to demand the Actual Solution and a Sane Revolution ...

Earth Abides is one of the earliest attempts in American Literature to give a reasonable accounting of a story that would be possible -- if -- there was an apocalyptic event that nearly destroyed all of 'Mankind'.

Since it publishing, there have been many knock-off works and copy-cat scenarios (none giving credit to Earth Abides), and they have steadily become more vulgar and barbaric with time. This being due to the greedy need of HollyQueer producers to sell ever-more grotesque and violent 'flicks' about a Post-Apocalyptic Hell.

Earth Abides is not responsible for the swinish behaviors of HollyQueer producers. Nor, is it barbaric and filled with senseless violence.

Earth Abides is an attempt, well carried off, to explain from a standpoint of objectivity what would happen under the circumstances described in the story.

Earth Abides should be particularly interesting to you.

I must say, it should be an interesting read to all Human Beings for the pure sake of what it is, without any ancillary absurdities attached to it from the cowardice and stupidities of 'These Times'; such as the hiring of Wash This Death City Monkey Lawyers to defend the (totally Non-Wash This Death City) Human Species.

Earth Abides is a very interesting story, which I read during my 'High School Years'. What made it more poignant for me was the fact that when I read it, I was living in California and I already knew some of the areas mentioned in the book.

At that time, there was a real fear in the world about an Apocalyptic Nuclear War happening. I mean the fear of such a Nuclear War was substantial. You could cut it with a knife, as it came out of people's mouths.

Human Interaction and Human Courage prevented it from happening, fortunately. Just as Human Togetherness and Human Courage will prevent the Queering of the World by the SQLD.

But, at the time, the potential End of the World was very real in the minds of many, and it increased with time. Into this scenario George R. Stewart published Earth Abides. More as a dosage of Common Sense, than for any reasons of fear-mongering or parasitism upon an already dreary and desperate situation. Earth Abides is a lesson, not a leaching. It teaches, instead of blood-sucks. It gives food-for-thought and rational possibilities; instead of fueling the flames of fear and global worry, for the sake of profit.

And so, it was quickly forgotten by the Literary Ringmasters; and was relegated to a 'specialty niche'.

It did not wear the cloak of 'sensationalism', which doomed it to being ignored by the Jackals and Vultures of the Vile Medias. Medias that would some day become the Queer Medias.

I suggest that you read it now for that very reason.

Sensibility.

Add to that -- Rationality. Objectivity. Reality. Real Possibility as opposed to fear-based Imagination.

As a writer, I can say that Earth Abides is at once both simple to read and monumental in its impact. It is like a treatise, concerning this story, that has been set to a detail level that allows the entire project to be written in the expanse of a pre-determined length. To write it with a more intense detail level would lengthen the project to an unwieldy length -- for George R. Stewart.

Me? If I had written Earth Abides, it would be about 1500 pages long.
